All of a Sudden She's a Person

Looks like it's been a while since we've added a post. Jayden is so much fun and full of energy. She still loves to read and we often find her sitting in her room by herself babbling while holding a book. Here is proof.


She also loves her stuffed animals, especially when they are all over the floor.

Jayden is growing so fast. She is smart and quick. Easily gets into everything as soon as you turn your back.

More family visits - Amy from Calgary

Aunt Amy finally made the trip from Canada to Central Ohio. We had a fabulous time. Grandpa Larry and Halmoni drove out from Maryland for the weekend. We spend lots of quality time together and also did our patriotic duty - shopping! Jayden got creative with some left over boxes and made a vehicle out of one of them. Aunt Amy and Jayden took turns using it. Here's the proof.

Santa Fe - Cousin's Reunion Weekend July 2011 (late entry)

Jayden and Matt made the long trek from Ohio to New Mexico for a week long trip over July 4th. They enjoyed green chiles and cool desert evenings.

Water Fountain

Jayden's newest trick is to spit out her water like a water fountain. Not sure where she learned this from, either swim class or Kylie. It is very funny in the beginning but then the kitchen floor gets soaking wet and she starts to slip and slide. Our little genius!

Proof she is a Homo sapien

No longer forced to crawl on hands and knees, Jayden is working on mastering the art of bipedal motion. Everyday she does more walking than crawling. But when necessary to get from point A to point B in a hurry, she can still turn on the afterburners while on all fours. Notice her ability to walk and eat at the same time. Quite advanced.

First Birthday Party aka Dol

This past weekend we celebrated Jayden's 1st birthday (Dol in Korean) in Maryland with lots of friends and family. She was so great wearing her traditional Korean garb. Michelle even joined in and wore her aunt's traditional dress. Part of the tradition is placing several symbolic items in front of the baby and let her grab at one. Jayden chose the pencil, which symbolizes scholarly work.

So close, yet so far

As she is fast approaching 1 year, Jayden is almost starting to walk. We practice with just a few steps at a time. With this session she was consistently taking a few steps towards Matt. Of course when the video camera came out, Jayden was not interested in performing. We think she'll be walking any day now.

Cruising and Moving

Jayden officially can't sit still. She is always crawling somewhere around the house, which has garnered her another nickname - Adventure Girl. If she's not crawling then she is getting really good at standing up while holding coffee tables, bookshelves, etc. This video shows Jayden "walking her dinosaur".

National Football Championship Weekend

With the help of Jayden's unstoppable cuteness, Matt was able to win 4 tickets plus airfare and hotel to the BCS National Championship game. Good thing Grandpa Larry and Halmoni came to help take care of things, while Michelle was hard at work. Matt had a great time with Geoff, Scott and Joe. We were happy when he finally came home.

Xmas in Maryland

Although we celebrated Xmas a few days late, Jayden didn't seem to mind. We had a great time seeing friends and family. Our trip back to Ohio was a little too much adventure though. At least the Matrix is driving very well now. Here are two videos from our trip.

Happy Holidays

This is way overdue, but it's a nice holiday video. Disregard the singing, I didn't have a chance to properly warm up.

Laughter

When Jayden starts laughing, it is hard to get her to stop. In these two videos she gets introduced to Herbie and finds him to be hilarious. Yet another generation will be harassed by those 2 fingers.

Grandparents

Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Rick visited for the Penn St vs. Ohio State football game. Jayden is so entranced by their singing.

October Update

Ok, so it's already Nov 1st and we haven't updated the blog in over a month. Sorry! Jayden has started working on real food, i.e. rice cereal, squash. Most of it ends up on the bib but she seems to enjoy the experience. Also her bottom two teeth have made their way out into the world. She loves playing on her belly, and is working on crawling. We are still totally head over heels in love. Here is a video.

Trip to Austin

We just got back from a week long trip to Austin, TX. Grandma Nancy got to show off Jayden to all of her friends at a "sip & see". Also Jayden got her hebrew name - Yehudit Hayom. Here are a few videos.

Videos From Maryland

A couple of weekends ago, Jayden went on her first road trip to spend her 4 month birthday in Maryland. She had a great time hanging out with Halmoni, Grandpa Larry, Uncle Scott and Aunt A. She was also very excited to meet Gus as well as Dr. and Mrs. Han. Here are a few videos from the trip. Pictures will follow when Grandpa Larry sends us his professional quality ones. :)

4 month update

Sorry it's been a while since we've posted an update. Jayden just had her 4 month doctor's appointment. Here are the latest statistics: 13 lbs 12 oz (55th percentile) and 24 1/4 inches (50th percentile). She has also recently discovered how to roll over. Of course she figured out the hard way - back to front. Now we can't stop her from rolling over all the time. Also she is so vocal and babbles and sings with us. Still the best baby in the world
